Ezedify Privacy Policy

Ezedify (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an educational platform used by teachers and students to manage exams, assignments, lessons, grades, attendance, and classroom communication. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how it’s handled — for both the Ezedify website and the Ezedify mobile app.

1. Who this applies to

Ezedify is used by:

• Teachers, who create classes, exams, assignments, and lessons, and grade student work.
• Students, who join their teacher’s class, take exams/assignments, and view their own grades and feedback.

2. Information we collect

From teachers

• Name, email address, and password (or Google sign-in credentials)
• School name, subject taught, and profile photo (optional)
• Content they create: exams, assignments, lessons, class rosters, attendance records, grades, report-card marks, and announcements/messages sent to students

From students

• Name, email address, and password (or Google sign-in credentials)
• School, class, and level/grade information
• Profile photo (optional)
• Answers submitted to exams and assignments, including text answers, multiple-choice selections, and — for listening/speaking exercises — audio recordings the student records within the app
• Messages sent within the app’s messaging/chat feature
• Attendance status as recorded by their teacher
• Grades, scores, and teacher feedback on their work

Automatically collected

• Basic technical information needed to operate the app (e.g., login sessions, device/browser type, timestamps of activity) for security and troubleshooting purposes.

What we do NOT collect

• We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not run ads in the app.
• We do not collect location data.

3. How we use this information

We use the information collected only to operate Ezedify:

• To create and manage teacher and student accounts
• To let teachers build, administer, and grade exams and assignments
• To let students take exams/assignments and view their own results and feedback
• To generate report cards and attendance summaries for teachers
• To enable messaging between teachers and their students within a class
• To keep the platform secure (e.g., preventing unauthorized access, detecting abuse)
• To fix bugs and improve the platform’s reliability

We do not use student or teacher data for advertising, and we do not sell personal information to any third party.

4. Who can see student information

Ezedify classes are set up by a student’s own teacher or school — a student joins a class using a code their teacher gives them, not through open public sign-up. This matters because many students on Ezedify are minors still in secondary or primary school, and it means their information is only ever visible within the classroom structure their teacher and school already control:

• A student’s teacher(s) can see that student’s submitted work, grades, attendance, and messages within their own class(es).
• Other students cannot see another student’s individual grades, answers, or private messages.
• Ezedify staff may access data only as needed to provide technical support or investigate a reported problem, or where required by law.

5. Where data is stored and third-party services

Ezedify is built on Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase Storage), which stores and secures our data on Google’s cloud infrastructure. Google acts as our data processor and is contractually bound to protect this data; Google does not use it for its own advertising purposes.

We do not share personal data with any other third party except:

• Where required by law or a valid legal request
• With a service provider strictly necessary to operate the platform (e.g., our hosting provider), under confidentiality obligations

6. Children’s privacy

Because student accounts are class-based rather than open to the public (see Section 4), we design data collection around what a teacher actually needs to run their class: a student’s name, email, school/class information, and their academic work — nothing more. We do not knowingly use a student’s data for any purpose beyond providing the educational service itself, and we do not direct any marketing at students.

Parents or guardians who want to review, correct, or request deletion of their child’s information can contact us using the details in Section 8, or contact their child’s teacher/school directly, since teachers manage class rosters.

7. Data retention and deletion

We retain account and academic data for as long as the account is active and as needed to provide the service (e.g., so a student can review past grades, and a teacher can maintain historical report cards).

A user may request deletion of their account and associated personal data by contacting us (Section 8). Some information may be retained where required for legitimate academic record-keeping or legal obligations.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as Ezedify’s features evolve. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when we do. Continued use of Ezedify after a change means you accept the updated policy.
